DZO, Rook Nelson made his planes stationed in Florida part of a disaster relief effort in Puerto Rico since the island was devastated by Hurricane Maria. Nelson has flown his planes to Puerto Rico for nearly nine years for annual skydiving events and knew many people in need. A friend stated tearfully to Nelson, “I have no feed for my starving horses.” The call motivated him to take action.

Several flights have taken down thousands of pounds of basic human need supplies such as batteries, generators, medicine, and more. Each flight back the plane is loaded with abandoned or stray cats and dogs. “It’s the right thing to do,” Nelson says.
