DZO, Andy Simmons contacted us in the fall of 2015 wishing for help with his new startup - San Jose Skydiving Center. This was our first client that was starting from ground zero which was ideal for us. We were able to advise Andy on the best name for his DZ (it did not start as San Jose Skydiving Center) based on Google Search volumes for his region.
This project was a lot of fun for us as we were able to build his brand both in design and in search engine optimization. Rather than correcting past mistakes and issues with SEO, we were able to immediately begin working on getting the DZ listed correctly.
Our first duty was creating the DZ's logo which was done within our first round of concept designs. To date, it's been the easiest logo design yet and we're thrilled with the result. The colors were inspired by the team colors of the Seattle Seahawks (a color combination we really love).
From there, building a beautiful website was our next step.
Within three months of the DZ opening, San Jose Skydiving Center was in the black - unheard for a skydiving startup. We attribute this to an excellent marketing plan executed before opening day.
As a design firm focused on one industry, seeing the DNA in our designs can be spotted. The continuous push within our design team is to be continuously changing. This design marked a departure from many of our other designs and is what we would refer to as V.3 of our design styling for DZ websites.
A larger, more open hero image, cleaner menus and call to actions with button customizing was the newest iteration to our design schematics.
Of all the designs we've created for the skydiving industry, this design has received more compliments than any design we've done to date.
