WNY Skydiving had a challenge that was directly affecting their bottom line: stability. Through the busy months of 2018, WNY Skydiving’s website had several instances where the site would go down – a major inconvenience when the majority of your sales come via the website!
The WNY management team felt that if they were going to invest in improving their site’s stability, they would take the extra step and have a better design focused on user experience. The analytics on their site indicated that adjustments needed to be made based on multiple data points tied to user experience.
With an abbreviated season, it’s imperative that WNY capture every sale possible. Our primary objective was to remove any friction for the customer involving the reservations process. We ensured that the Book Now CTA, was always one click away and very visible. This subtle change, as compared to the previous website, immediately resulted in an uptick in traffic to their online reservations program.
To help improve the user experience, our development team created a clickable tab just above the fold to highlight the three primary services the DZ offers. This tab allows users to easily toggle between the three services. Each tab highlights the heaviest trafficked pages for each of the services based on site traffic data.
WNY has maintained a robust blog which was being underserved based on its location and presentation within their old site. To generate larger exposure for the blog, it was moved to the home page.
Having the opportunity to re-design the WNY website was a treat for us in terms of SEO. Throughout 2018, our SEO team was optimizing the old WNY site, so we had a lot of data, insights and a wish list of features we wanted to add to their new site in order to see improved Google Search performance.
Since the site launched in January of 2019, search statistics have improved across the board at nearly every data point – something we and the client are very pleased with.
