If there was ever a dropzone synonymous with skydiving, it’s Skydive DeLand. When the management team reached out to us in 2018 to develop a new website for this iconic brand, we were honored and excited.
Creating Something Beautiful
Our team develops websites from scratch, meaning we don’t use design themes or templates, but rather build websites around user experience and the photography our clients provide. The better the photography, the more creative we can be and the result is usually striking.
Photography was not going to be a challenge for Skydive DeLand which allowed the design to be vibrant and more easily make a strong first impression compared to that of Skydive DeLand’s competitors.
Generating More Revenue
Skydive DeLand has always been known as a prodigious licensed skydiver dropzone, but not a dropzone that was known for doing a lot of tandems.
Part of the reason for this is their previous websites had never been optimized for SEO deeming the dropzone nearly invisible (i.e. page 2 in Google Search Results) in several key markets like Daytona Beach and Orlando.
Our SEO team optimized the website and made sure that the end-user could quickly find what they were looking for (pricing options) as well as a clear call to action (e.g. Book Now and Gift Certificates).
Post-launch reporting demonstrated lower bounce rates, higher time spent on the website and an increase in bookings almost immediately (per client feedback).
Location, Location, Location
The Skydive DeLand site started a trend with many of our designs and that’s the use of a proximity map which clearly shows either drive times or mileage from key markets. Being that many dropzones are usually an hour from major cities and serve multiple destinations, we feel it’s important for the user to quickly identify their proximity to the dropzone, visually.
The Final Result
A beautiful website means nothing if it can’t be discovered; positioning in Google has a direct effect on revenue. With a focus on both the mobile and desktop user experience combined with a well-optimized website, the Skydive DeLand website began to produce results very quickly.
